Soccer Sequence No.1

A sequence is a set of numbers that are connected in some way. Try to recognise the importance of the sequence of numbers below in terms of the great game.

12 - 18 - 78 - 89 - 101 - 120

Any ideas?

Number of overseas players starting the first game of the season for premiership teams? At 3 year intervals?

Though the numbers do not entirely fit those on both the German and English Wikipedia pages, I guess they reference the minutes in which the goals of the 1966 World Cup Final were scored.

The minutes in which goals were scored in 1966 WC Final (although you are arguably a couple minutes out on couple of them).

In yards, the distance of the penalty spot (12), and the edge of penalty area (18) from the goal line. The next are the minimum and maximum pitch widths (78 to 89 yards) then same for pitch lengths (101 to 120 yards).

Maybe.
