Every time I see the book "Fever Pitch," I think of the movie, which my whole family just loved... But that's about baseball! Here's another good football book, but this one is for the novice fan: A Sportscaster's Guide to Watching Football by sportscaster Mark Oristano. It's perfect for imparting the basics, so the person who doesn't know much can share in the fun and understand what's going on. The tips apply to football on any level, from professional, to college (bowl games are coming!), high school, even pee-wee football. (I actually know about this book because of a friend of mine, who HAD to learn something about football when her young son joined a local league. She didn't know much t all -- but now she does!)
